What a Wikipedia page costs — and what actually drives the price

Professional Wikipedia page creation typically costs between $700 and $2,500, depending on how much independent coverage exists about the subject and how much verification that coverage demands. Our published tiers start at $700 for straightforward subjects and $1,800 for complex or previously rejected ones. Every engagement begins with a free notability assessment.

Why It Varies

Why the price varies at all

Pricing a Wikipedia article by word count makes no sense, because the writing is the small part. Roughly two thirds of the work happens before a single sentence is drafted, in the search for significant coverage published by sources independent of the subject.

A founder with fifteen years of scattered trade-press mentions takes far longer to source properly than a subject with three strong national profiles — even though the finished articles look similar in length. That research burden is what the tiers reflect.

The assessment tells us which tier applies. The figure is then fixed in writing before any work is commissioned.

Honest Limits

What is not included at any price

A guaranteed approval

Volunteer reviewers decide, and no agency controls them. Anyone charging for a guarantee is charging for something they cannot deliver.

A page that says only what you want it to say

The article reflects what independent sources published, including anything unflattering they covered.

Removal of accurate, sourced information

From an existing article — properly sourced criticism stays.

Undisclosed paid editing

Wikipedia's terms of use require paid contributors to declare their client and affiliation. We declare it as a matter of course.

A page for a subject that is not notable yet

If the coverage is not there, we say so at the assessment stage and you pay nothing.

How It Lines Up

How the money and the work line up

  1. Free notability assessment. We search for independent coverage and give you a written verdict, usually within a few days. No cost, no commitment.
  2. Tier and quote confirmed in writing. Scope, structure and source list agreed before anything starts.
  3. 50% to begin. Research and drafting run for three to six weeks.
  4. 50% on submission. The draft goes to review with full paid-contribution disclosure.
  5. Reviewer feedback handled. On its merits, at no extra charge, within your tier.
  6. Monitoring period begins. On acceptance, for the duration included in your package.

Cheaper Options

Is a cheaper Wikipedia page worth it?

Below roughly $500, something is usually being skipped — normally the source research, occasionally the disclosure. Both create the same outcome: a draft that reads well, fails review, and leaves the subject with a rejection on record that makes the next attempt harder.

The cheapest genuinely useful thing we offer is the notability assessment, and it is free. If the coverage is not there yet, that answer saves you the entire budget.

Read about page creation

After Publication

Ongoing page management

Publication is not the end. Articles get edited by anyone, milestones go stale, and links rot.

$250/month or $2,500/year covers watchlist monitoring, assessment of incoming edits, milestone updates drawn from independent sources, dead-link repair, and a quarterly report in plain language explaining what changed and why.

How ongoing management works

Do you need a retainer?

You need it if the subject is active enough that facts change or the article attracts edits. If neither is true, a page can sit stable for years without it — and we will say so rather than sell you a retainer.

Pricing FAQ

Straight answers on cost and payment.

If a quote elsewhere looks dramatically cheaper, ask what proportion of the fee covers independent source research before drafting starts.

How much does it cost to create a Wikipedia page?

Our engagements start at $700 for straightforward subjects and run to $1,800 for complex or previously rejected ones, with custom scoping above that. The figure depends on how much independent coverage exists and how much verification it requires, which the free notability assessment establishes before you commit.

Why do Wikipedia agencies charge such different prices?

Because they are pricing different work. Some price the writing, which is the small part. Some price the research, which is most of it. And some price a guaranteed outcome, which nobody can actually deliver. Ask any agency what proportion of the fee covers source research before you compare quotes.

Do you charge for the notability assessment?

No. The assessment is free and comes with a written verdict. If the independent coverage is not there, we tell you before any work is commissioned and you pay nothing.

Do I pay again if the page is rejected at review?

No. Reviewer-feedback revisions are included in your tier. On Standard and above we keep responding to reviewer comments until the article is accepted or a genuine blocker is documented in writing.

Is there a refund if the page is never published?

We do not refund research that was properly done — the notability report and source pack are real deliverables you keep. What we do instead is prevent that situation at the assessment stage, which is exactly why the assessment is free and honest.

How long does it take?

Research and drafting take three to six weeks. The review queue that follows belongs to volunteer reviewers and can clear in days or run to several months. No agency can shorten that queue, and any promised publication date should be treated with suspicion.

Do you offer payment plans?

Engagements are split 50% at the start and 50% on submission as standard. For Comprehensive and Custom tiers we can stage payments across the research and drafting milestones.

What does ongoing management cost, and do I need it?

$250 a month or $2,500 a year. You need it if the subject is active enough that facts change or the article attracts edits. If neither is true, a page can sit stable for years without it, and we will say so rather than sell you a retainer.

Can I pay you to remove something from my Wikipedia page?

Not if it is accurate and properly sourced. We can correct genuine factual errors, add missing context from independent sources, and address undue weight through the proper channels. Paying anyone to scrub sourced material is how accounts and pages get burned.

Start with clarity

Start with the assessment, not the invoice.

Bring the strongest independent coverage you have. We will tell you which tier applies — or that a page is not realistic yet.
