Articles for Creation (AfC) lets drafts be reviewed before they enter main article space. For many new or paid contributors it is the responsible path. It is also where patience gets tested.
Reviewers are volunteers
There is no paid SLA. Backlogs stretch. Order is not strictly first-in, first-out. A clear, well-sourced draft still waits — but a muddy promotional draft waits, then declines, then waits again after revision.
What reviewers look for first
- Independent secondary sources visible without archaeology
- Neutral tone and proportionate structure
- Citations that actually support the sentences above them
- Honest handling of living-person and COI issues
What you can do while a draft waits
Keep improving citations, trimming hype, and watching for new independent coverage. Do not open parallel copies under new accounts to “speed things up.” That pattern is noticed.
After acceptance
Mainspace is not a finish line. Early edits, tags, and talk-page questions are common. Plan for monitoring through stabilisation. For timeline context, see how long creation takes.
